Ladylike Chic Eco Friendly Fashion (No Birkenstocks required!)

I always thought that in order to wear eco friendly clothing you had to have that sort of hippy chic vibe going on. Kind of like the cute girl in the photo to the right. Now, in high school that might have been my look, but I have grown up a lot since then. I know that in the real world, that hippy chic style really doesn't work. (unless you are a musician or join green peace) I do love music and I play the guitar every now and then, but I now know that it is not a requirement to "look the part" to prove a point. One of the points being that I care about the environment! With today's eco friendly fashions and accessories I can look like a professional lady and still save the earth!

I am just adoring what H&M is doing to be eco friendly. They have created The Garden Collection and it is so beautiful! The fabrics consist of organic cotton, organic linen, recycled polyester (which is made of plastic bottles or textile waste), and tencel. My favorite pieces from this collection are the two dresses being modeled on the far left and far right. So pretty:-)

These bags are by another eco friendly label called Matt&Nat. They also use recycled plastic bottles to create their gorgeous handbag designs. I love how they tell you on each tag just how many plastic bottles were used to create the bag. The material is soft enough to be mistaken as leather.

Big Buddha handbags are so cool and for their Spring 2010 handbag collection they have outdone themselves! How soft and pretty do these bags look?! The 'Cammy' bag in the middle is my pick but they all are fabulous. I love the soft pastel colors they come in. And the price tags are so reasonable that you will actually have money left over that you can carry in your Big Buddha!

These dresses are so pretty and ladylike that you will fool the biggest hippy in town! ~The shirt dress on the left is by 'deux fm' and is 100% silk crepe and is made by a sustainable sweatshop free company. $184.~ The ruffled little black dress is by 'Ecoskin' and is a bamboo/tencel blend. $168.

These sunglasses are sweet! Who would know that they are made from bamboo?!
