The Power of a Great Blouse

First of all, I would like to know how many of you out there actually own blouses? Now, how many of you actually wear them? I have found that there seem to be less and less blouse wearings ladies out there due to the fact that blouses can sometimes mean high maintenance. They usually require ironing, unless they say they are wrinkle resistant, in which they still usually require a light ironing job (It only takes like 5 minutes. Promise!) I do realize that we are all in a hurry these days, but I must say that blouses look amazing. When I see a woman wearing one, she looks so polished and sophisticated! I plan on purchasing more blouses in the near future. Blouses even look great when worn with a pair of jeans! Here are a few examples of some of my favorite style icons and how they have worn their blouses:
Above and below: Jenna Lyons {Creative Director at JCrew}, the master blouse wearer.

Katherine Hepburn, known for wearing pants....... and blouses!

Don't you want to be as chic as Audrey Hepburn? Easy. Just put on a blouse!
Alexa Chung sips on a coffee while hailing a cab in the West Village, New York City. The fashion icon, who has reportedly been seen flirting with One Direction’s Harry Styles, looked fashionable with a blouse, skirt, and stockings as she headed out into the Big Apple.
Alexa Chung. Style Icon. Love her look, and her BLOUSE!

Here are some of my personal "best" blouse looks:

I only own a few blouses. Sometimes when I go shopping I tend to forget how versatile blouses can be! Blouses are great because they are so simple which means that you can accessorize them many different ways to make the look your "own". I plan on investing in more great blouses in the near future. How about you?

Here is my "blouse" shopping list:
~ a gray chambray blouse
~ a silk blouse in a gorgeous jewel tone (I am thinking a sapphire blue or a deep pink tourmaline)
~ another wrinkle resistant white blouse (you can never have too many white blouses! See my blog post titled "The Power of a White Blouse")
~ a red wrinkle resistant blouse (perhaps one with a wing collar
~ a black wrinkle resistant blouse

As time goes on I hope to perhaps make wearing blouses part of my signature look! Why not wear a blouse every day? They scream instant chic!
