Incorporate Gatsby Style Into Your Everyday Style

{The Great Gatsby 1974}

{The Great Gatsby 2013}

I know you are seeing and hearing about it every where, but I just couldn't not post a blog about The Great Gatsby! The movie has made it's big debut again with it's new all-star cast. I won't go into who plays who, because I am sure that unless you are living under a rock, you already know all about that. I am just going to give you a few little fashion tips for you to incorporate The Great Gatsby style into your own every day life without looking like you are going to a costume party.

1) Don't get a tan this summer. Pale with rosy cheeks is the way to go.

2) Wear your pearls. Long strands are preferable, worn doubled up around your neck. Think Coco Chanel.

3) Add a little fringe to your life. Perfect and a little different alternative to the typical cocktail dress!

4) Wear your hair in a bob and curl it under just a tad. If you have long hair, use bobbi pins in order to pin it up underneath to create a bob type effect.

5) Wear a wide brim hat as you walk down the street. You will not only have Gatsby style, but you will also be protecting your delicate facial skin from the sun's harmful rays. I adore this one by Maison Michel.

6) Wear a sheer feminine style blouse with your cropped jeans like this one that I  found on Etsy.

7) Wear art deco jewelry.

8) Carry an interesting art deco bag like this vintage Valentino that I found at Ruby Lane.

9) Wear a headdress. This can seem a little out of the box for you, but a very pretty look if you are daring enough. Wear just a simple tank and a faded pair of jeans when you wear a headdress to avoid looking "overdone."
The most important thing to remember is that you should not wear any more than two of these looks at a time. You will look like you are going to a Gatsby costume party if you do.
Oh, and have any of you seen the movie yet? If so, please feel free to leave a comment. I'd love to know your thoughts!
